Private Johnny "Tarzan" Farrell is a member of the "Dirty Dozen". Before the war he wanted to be an actor and modeled men's bathing suits for department stores. After the attack on Pearl Harbour he enlisted in the Army. He was serving 10 years in Marston Tyne military prison for assaulting a Captain. The Captain was in the shower at the time and Johnny didn't know he was an officer. It was all because the Captain had taken Johnny's shampoo.
